Advanced Pistol
Class Description
The Advanced Pistol Course is a performance-driven, high-intensity program designed for experienced shooters ready to push beyond foundational handgun skills. This class focuses on speed, accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making under pressure, preparing students to run their pistol confidently in demanding, real-world scenarios. Students will refine advanced shooting fundamentals, strengthen weapon-handling efficiency, and work through dynamic drills that require rapid threat engagement and problem-solving. The curriculum includes movement, unconventional positions, target transitions, and stress-based evolutions that challenge both technical proficiency and mental composure. Precision at speed, recoil control, rapid follow-up shots, and distance accountability. Movement & Positioning: Shooting on the move, lateral/angled movement, and effective use of cover. Weapon Manipulation: Speed reloads, retention reloads, malfunction clearance, and optimizing body mechanics. Target Transitions & Discrimination: Engaging multiple threats, shifting focus efficiently, and making fast, accurate decisions. Stress & Performance Drills: Timed evolutions, cognitive tasks, and scenario-based challenges to elevate confidence and consistency. Prerequisites This is an advanced-level course. Students must have strong foundational pistol skills, safe weapons handling, and prior basic or intermediate pistol training. Required Equipment Firearms & Ammunition Primary handgun Backup handgun (strongly recommended) 3–4 magazines 800–1,000 rounds of ammunition Magazine loader Safety Gear ANSI-rated eye protection (clear + tinted) Ear protection (electronic recommended) Brimmed hat Holster & Load-Bearing Gear Duty or concealment holster Rigid, secure, trigger fully covered Supports movement, draws, and re-holstering Quality gun belt 2–3 magazine pouches Concealment garment (if required by class) Clothing Durable pants (kneeling-friendly) Closed-toe footwear with good traction Weather-appropriate layers Recommended Maintenance & Spares Spare magazines Cleaning kit & lubricant Small tool kit Extra batteries (optics, ear pro) Medical & Safety Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) Tourniquet Blister care / athletic tape Knee pads Training Enhancements Notebook & pen Marker for targets and mags Comfort Hydration system Electrolytes Chair or stool Common Restrictions No Steel-core / tracer ammo Sig 320 is allowed however 320 waiver will be required to be signed.
